In the middle of the night, things are completely silent around here. You might hear an occasional coyote but that’s about it. So, when 2am rolls around and the cats start racing around, you know something’s up. Blurry eyed I found the flashlight and went to see what was going on in the family room. Dakota was sound asleep on her bed completely unaware of pretty much everything. I then saw Kodiak & Jasper glued to the corner where the freezer is. I put my flashlight in the corner & see a little mouse shaking. I quickly woke up John and he started moving things around so my lightning fast Kodiak was chasing the mouse from the family room through the kitchen and back again until he finally caught it (sorry my mouse loving friend, Shelley!) John threw it out the door & we all went back to sleep.
Around 5am, the same scene played out again! Thank goodness for cats who sense these things right away. Little Jasper just sits there while Kodiak is flying through the room. Needless to say we were all tired the next day and both cats slept the entire day, from 9am to 8pm and then through the next night.
The next day John found our problem & how the mice were getting in. He headed to town to get supplies and now its peaceful sleeping again.
The cats are pretty upset that their fun is gone!
